EDFbrowser is a viewer for medical timeseries storage files containing data such as EEG, EMG, and ECG signals. It supports EDF(+) and BDF(+) file formats. Apart from viewing the files, it also supports some editing operations and can convert the biomedical files to other formats.

This package contains a German medical dictionary for use with the hunspell spellchecker which is currently used within OpenOffice.org2 and as an ispell clone.

Periodic Calendar is a GUI application which assists in women menstrual cycles tracking and fertility periods prediction. This information can be used as supportive either for conception or contraception planning.

Periodic Calendar provides support for BBT and sympto-thermal methods which have the highest reliability in fertility periods prediction. User can choose any subset of the features to be used or even fall to the generic calendar method (which if used alone is very unreliable).

Authors of the Periodic Calendar still insist on not being an equal substitute to the fertility planning consultants or doctors. Before using this application please talk to your doctor or read a good book on the subject.

Pondus keeps track of your body weight and, optionally, the percentage of bodyfat, muscle and water. It aims to be simple to use, lightweight and fast. All data can be plotted to get a quick overview of the history of your weight. A simple weight planner allows one to define "target weights" and this plan can be compared with the actual measurements in a plot.

CLIPS is an expert system shell / inference engine written by NASA (see Debian package clips).

pyclips are the Python bindings to that engine.

QuitCount is a simple counter that shows what you spared since you quit smoking. Once you tell it the date you quit, how much you smoked, and how much it cost, it'll tell you how many cigarettes you didn't smoke since, and how much it makes in terms of money, tar, and life expectancy.

This package provides the file /usr/share/dict/german-medical containing a list of German medical words. This list can be used by spelling checkers, and by programs such as look(1).

Workrave is a program that assists in the recovery and prevention of Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI). The program frequently alerts you to take micro-pauses, rest breaks and restricts you to your daily limit.

It includes a system tray applet that works with GNOME and KDE and has network capabilities to monitor your activity even if switching back and forth between different computers is part of your job.

Workrave offers many more configuration options than other similar tools.

This library has functions for querying the PubMed medical literature database and parsing the XML results into Common Lisp objects. This package uses the cl-aserve for HTTP fetches.

Étant donnée une longueur de cycle ou de statistiques de plusieurs règles, il peut calculer les jours jusqu'à la menstruation, le jour de sexe « sûr », la période de fertilité et les jours d'ovulation et définir la date de naissance de l'enfant. Il permet à l'utilisateur d'écrire des notes et d'aider à suivre l'administration de plaquette d'hormones contraceptives.

Possibilités du programme :

• calculer les jours de menstruation, basé sur la longueur du cycle ou sur des statistiques de règles précédentes ;
• calculer les jours de sexe « sûr », la période de fertilité et le jour d'ovulation ;
• définir la date de naissance d'un enfant ;
• prendre des notes ;
• aider à suivre la réception de plaquettes d'hormones contraceptives ;
• plusieurs utilisateurs sont possibles. Les données sont protégées par un mot de passe pour chaque utilisateur.

NOTE : ce programme n'est pas une méthode fiable de contraception. Il ne permet pas non plus d'empêcher la transmission de maladies comme le SIDA. Il s'agit uniquement d'un moyen électronique de suivre certaines de vos données médicales et d'en extraire quelques conclusions statistiques. Vous ne devez en aucune manière considérer ce programme comme un substitut pour votre gynécologue.

Mencal est un calendrier de menstruations écrit en Perl.

C'est une simple variante de la commande cal. La principale différence est que vous pouvez avoir des jours répétés périodiquement surlignés en couleur. Cela peut être utilisé pour suivre les menstruations ou d'autres cycles.

MSSStest is a program for implementing the method described in the article The Multiple Sclerosis Severity Score. R. Roxburgh S. Seaman et al. (2004), accepted for publication by Neurology. It calculates MSSS scores and uses these scores to test for differences between disease progression rates in different groups defined by genotype at some locus. A brief description of the method is given below.
